A writers mind in the clouds
Writing came from her grandfather, William Blinn, the original dreamer with his head so high in the clouds, he had still written on his manual type writer in 2020.
Since the young age of thirteen she attempted writing stories on WattPad and even Episode, but none of them ever reached past the 3rd or 4th page. Two years later, she began writing a book and dreamed of it one day being published. Meanwhile it had never occurred to her that writing was her calling, her true passion, and safe haven from the world she didn’t quite fit into.
At the age of 19 now, Mackenzie Skye Johnson, has been on one hell of a ride trying to find herself, until this past year where her belonging landed right into her hands. No longer in fear of the outcasted life she felt she lived, but instead embracing her individuality and rareness she contributes to this world.
Like her grandfather, her head is in the clouds dreaming of what to write next. So here is what lies in the Skye.

2002
Born in the valley as a young girl with the world on her mind.
2012
A trip to Tanzania, Africa with my family. My dad and I had climbed the fifth tallest mountain in the world. Little did 10 year old me realize, not only was this a tremendous physical feat, but one that would mentally empower me for the rest of my life. I thank that ray of sunshine I imitated for taking on the world first and showing me how to do it.
2015-2018
School has always been a place that I fit in, but felt like an outsider. Surrounded by friends and family, but nevertheless felt unconnected to the world around me. At this age, passions began to spark my interests taking up photography, snowboarding, cooking, writing, and reading. As my world suddenly expanded and my welled dreams became bigger, and I began documenting every moment of my life. Journal entry after journal entry these small books held every monumental moment, each setback, and even the moments when my high school crush and I exchanged hallway glances.
2020-2021
After a year amidst the pandemic and a year carved by my mental health, writing and photography became my escape in re-discovering the old me after losing myself. Finally uncovering my yellow soul from the societal damage it had suffered.
2022
New year, and welcome to my ever-evolving, fascinating mind.

- I’ve spent about two years pursuing freelance photography for clothing brands, headshots, and my own projects
- I have been using my dads high school film camera for about 4 years
- I lived in Stockholm, Sweden by myself in 2020 amidst the pandemic
- I was the social media coordinator for the Cuestonian
- I have been writing in a small journal for 7 years now
